As I read over my last post I realized I made a lot of typo's and grammatical errors because I was typing so fast. I will try to write a little more carefully this post because I am too lazy to fix mistakes from the last one, ha ha :).
So it turns out that the library computers will not let me access anything from my hard drive... thus no pictures. BUT, Ronald and I decided to buy another laptop and will be getting it this week! Although we would rather not have to pay for another one we were blessed to get a great deal on it. Ron's brother was really nice on helping us get the great deal! We decided that it is something that will make things a lot more convenient with Ron's schooling and all the day-to-day things we need/want to get done.
Last week there was lots of misc. items to take care of when we moved into our new house. We were also working on getting our military ID's taken cared of and getting a doctors appointment set up because I haven't been seen for a while. It was a tender mercy that we were able to set up an appointment WITHOUT my military ID! That is basically impossible and the Lord helped us find a loop whole. We didn't have our marriage certificate at the time :S, which is obviously SUPER important because without it, no ID for me as Ron's dependent (that's what they call us non-military family people). We were blessed to be able to get my ID shortly after (we ordered a new marriage certificate and it came in faster then we thought it would) :)!
After our appointment, some testing, and an ultrasound (which was yesterday and we were actually lucky to get it so soon!) the doctor left a message last night that I needed to do more testing. I talked to her this morning and they want me to repeat the glucose diabetes test as well as the urine test (unfortunately didn't get a clean catch), they want to make sure I don't have a UTI (because I had one early on in my pregnancy) and I guess my results for the diabetes test were questionable so now I have to drink a bunch of sugar again and not eat anything for 3 hours afterwards instead of 1. Staussen looks really healthy and good from the ultrasound. The only thing is that he is on the smaller side... 29th percentile they said. So I will be getting a lot more ultrasounds regularly and other stuff to make sure he is on track. They said his individual measurements were normal but overall he was smaller. I'm hoping, though, that means he doesn't have the diabetes thing because the doctor said those babies are big... Anyway, I guess I am a little worried but I feel comforted that he will be fine and the Lord is here to help. And for those that are worried about me exercising too much... don't worry, I have stopped :) (since a few weeks ago) and the doctor told me today that I can't exercise so I will listen because I would rather be safe then sorry.
The reason the title of my post is about being "grateful for blessings" is because I have been taking them for granted! Last week was a lot busier then the last and there has been so much on my mind and to-do list that I haven't taken the time to slow down and ponder my blessings. I also have been letting my emotions take over more easily lately. I let worries and doubts creep into my mind about being a parent. Even though I really love Maryland and the new life we are starting here, I still have to pinch myself sometimes to see if this is real because life is just so different and my responsibilities are changing. But it is great, of course, because I know that change is a necessary thing in our life so we can improve and learn :).
The thing that I am most grateful for is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the scriptures that help remind me again and again about the plan of salvation. I am grateful for the reminder to NOT FORGET the importance of the basics... Who I am, why I am here and where I am going. Even though I know them in my mind, it's very easy to forget to remember and apply them in my heart. Especially when everyday distractions, personal weaknesses and opposition comes. Today in my scripture study I was reading about Alma talking to his son Corianton (I was reading this in the Book of Mormon student manual) and also his two other sons. I thought it was very insightful how Alma realized that Corianton's testimony was weak on the subject of salvation and that was the root to the problem. That gave me a lot of insight into my own life and how the plan of salvation really is the root to solving ALL our problems. I loved the commentary in the manual about parenting. It was expounded upon how each son was different and alma approached them all differently. However, he did emphasize to all of them to "remember! remember!" the Lord's goodness to His children. The scriptures help us to remember our blessings! I'm very grateful for the scriptures and how they help me in my life.

Maryland is NOT like Utah...
Well this is our first week here in Maryland. We arrived last Friday night. And we found a house on Saturday! I really didn't think we would find one so fast but it just felt right and we are so excited about it :). The only down side is that we can't move in until sometime between Saturday-wednesday. But the wait is worth it :), it's a great deal for what we are getting and it has everything we want! So right now we are just camping out in a hotel and exploring our new area! There is just SO MUCH to do and see around here.
So far here are the differences we have discovered with our new home state :)
- Maryland is a JUNGLE, it is SO green. There are tree's everywhere... except for where there are obviously buildings and such.
- The humidity is definitely a change, but I don't mind it. I just need to figure out how keep my hair less frizzy.
- There is a lot more diversity in Maryland and it's super fun! We have met a lot of cool people and it's just so crazy seeing so many people from totally different walks of life.
- There is not a LDS church every block unlike utah... but that's an obvious, utah is unique that way :)
- The DC temple has to COOLEST visitor's center. They had a concert last sunday that we went to and it was super neat. We also went to the visitors center on saturday (we were going to go to the temple but it was closed and so we checked out the visitors center) and one of the missionaries told us to watch an 11 min. video about the plan of salvation. The main message was about family's being together forever, made possible through the temple. I was such a baby, I was basically crying the whole time and I usually don't cry so much... I'll just blame it on the spirit and being pregnant :). But it was a touching video and made me so grateful for the gospel in my life and that I can be with my family forever!
- Although there is a lot of great people here the general safety of the area is not the same as utah... at least so far when it comes to valuable items. Yesterday Ron and I were in a stupor for a couple of hours after our lap top was stolen right from under us in the Rockville library :(. I was writing a letter and had my lap top by me and when I was done with it, it was gone. I know that could happen anywhere but at least at BYU/provo the chances of that happening are a lot less. That was a good/sad wake up call!
- There are stores, shopping, restaurants GALORE here!! Grocery stores, all kinds of misc, stores, and restaurants are EVERYWHERE! Parking is also MUCH more limited than in utah, (even compared to salt lake) especially when you are in the downtown areas.
- Transportation and traffic are definitely different. There are SO many roads and free ways! Traffic is really bad in the morning and evening. But it is nice there there are SO many buses that can take you any where you want and the metro system is great to get through traffic. And I have to admit I really miss the grid and number system Utah had. I am learning Lot's and lot's of street names and Google map has been a very wonderful friend :)
- It's cooler to be a pregnant lady here :)... I felt like in utah EVERY one was pregnant.... okay not really. But still so many people, and it's way awesome of course. However, it is kinda cool to feel a little more unique and special since there aren't so many women here expecting.
Well so far those are some of the things I have noticed. We really are excited to live here! I do miss my family and friends. But it's an exciting adventure we are starting. Ron starts a week long military camp next week and then has a bunch of other military things so he will be really busy soon.
I know this is a long post so I'm impressed if anyone has read this whole thing but I just wanted to briefly summarize my HUGE 2 year post delay from when I was engaged to when I was pregnant.... haha. The simple explanation for that was school, soccer, other misc activities keeping me busy, and a lack of motivation and prioritization. In fact I gave up on my blog so I didn't even touch it. I didn't know how to make it look good either. But my awesome sister Kylee :) has helped me get something I like! Kylee, my mom and other family members have also inspired me to keep a blog. Now that I don't have school and soccer being an excuse I think I could use this to update friends and family on my life. Who konw's how consistent I will be?... but I know I can definitely improve by posting sooner than every two years!

I'm OFFICIALLY engaged :)!!
Ron's proposal totally exceeded my expectations!! I thought a simple and sweet proposal would be great but what he did was AWESOME and it really surprised me!!!
I went to Disney Land with Ron and his family yesterday. It was SO much fun! I have never been to Disney Land before and I just loved it! And of course it was a million times better because I was with Ron :)!
It was a little past 11:00 pm and Ron, his family and I were walking in front of the big castle at the center of Disney Land. Because it was new years eve the place was packed! We were in front of the crowd and were really close to the Dj that was set up in front of about 50,000 people. I was just having a bunch of fun dancing to music and enjoying the Disney/New Years experience! Then one of the workers saw me and Ron dancing and was commenting on it. A couple minutes later the worker opened the string that held the crowd back to let us in. I was sort of confused what was going on... and then Ron and his family were telling me they wanted us to do a dance off. Ron walked out to the middle in front of everyone and was talking to the employee and then he pointed at me to come over. When I got there he told me to do a move. I'm not quite sure what I was thinking but I decided to do a stall on the ground. I can normally do that easily but I messed up maybe because I was in front of so many people. I was kinda embarrassed that I didn't do it right but it's alright, I won't see the people again and it makes a good story :). When I got up Ron wasn't dancing like I expected. Ron had this huge smile on his face and knelt to the ground and pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! I said yes of course and the whole crowd was cheering and then chanting to kiss each other and so we gave into the peer pressure! It was so awesome I was a little tired before that happened but after he proposed I had lots of adrenaline and couldn't stop smiling!!!!!! The whole day was amazing and the ending was the best :D!
I really didn't think that Ron would propose at Disney land because he asked me earlier that day if I wanted to go to the hot tub when we got back. I thought maybe he would there but I really couldn't guess when or where. I also didn't imagine him proposing in front of so many people :)! I didn't know if he had time to get the ring because he was so busy and I was with him so much. He was pretty sneaky!

I love Ron so much. He is so perfect for me and we get along so well, he is my best friend! I'm so excited to be sealed to him in the temple for time and all eternity. I am so grateful for the amazing blessing to experience life with my best friend and for our love to grow even more! It is such a blessing to soon have the opportunity to stand by his side forever through thick and thin and grow stronger together :). I'm so grateful for the Lords hand in my life, for His mercy and guidance through the dating process. I love the gospel! I know it is true and because of it me and Ron can be each others eternal companions :)!
